Building capabilities that count When it matters most

2016

A springboard for growth

As passionate about what we do as the day we started, Berwicks is now 40 consultants active in UK, Europe (including Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland), Trinidad and Africa with an ever-growing and diversifying client list.

2015

Consolidating and thriving

As well as strengthening our position in the nuclear power and energy industries – thanks to new contracts with Dounreay Site Restoration Limited – we also increase our presence in property and business services, with new clients including CBRE and Sungard AS.

2013

A strategic acquisition

We add supply chain auditing to our skill-set with the acquisition of Martello Risk Ltd.

2012

Our biggest win yet

We sign our biggest contract to date: a five-year deal with Sellafield (a joint venture with SERCO). Doubling in size again, we are now a 30-person company.

2010

Our reputation continues to grow

The year’s major contract wins include capability audits and crisis management training for other business units within EDF Energy and for new client Springfield Fuels Limited.

2009

Our new CEO

Jamie Murray becomes our new MD and CEO, with Dougie Keelan remaining as Chairman. Our client list is boosted by names ranging from Rolls Royce and Kent County Council to the Health & Safety Laboratory and the Health & Safety Executive.

2008

Meeting the highest standards

Our underlying approach and uncompromising standards are recognised with the award of Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001.

2007

Extending our reach

Working closely with EDF, Nuclear Generation and the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (ONR), our team doubles in size. Further new business wins increase our presence in Europe and we open an office in Switzerland.

2004

Attracting the best

Client wins range from the Atomic Weapons Establishment to English County Councils, leading to a recruitment drive. By year-end, our consultancy team is eight-strong and our future CEO, Jamie Murray, joins the team.

2001

Building industry recognition

With new headquarters in Edinburgh, we add British Nuclear Fuels Ltd (Magnox) to our growing roster of clients.

1998

Open for business

Berwicks is set up by Colonel Douglas Keelan and Major-General Andy Keeling to apply their military acquired skills of leadership and crisis management to industry. Our first contract is with British Energy, who we still work with today.
