Pat Parsons served as a Royal Marines Officer for 31 years, most of which was spent on active service or training for it. He saw service in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Northern Iraq and Southern Turkey. As a Commando Officer, he specialised as a mountain and arctic warfare expert and was also responsible for training Mountain Leaders throughout the Royal Marines. Pat ran the Nigerian Army Jungle Warfare School and attended Staff College in America with the US Marines. He was also responsible for the command and leadership training for all Royal Marines NCOs for a 2 year period. He commanded the Royal Marines Reserves in Northern England and in his final appointment he commanded the British Military Training Team responsible for training the armies of former Soviet Block nations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Pat is an International Mountain Leader and a ski instructor who has lead many mountaineering expeditions all over the world, including to the Himalayas and to Antarctica.

Pat joined Berwicks as a consultant in October 2006.
