Peter retired from the Royal Navy in 2009 after a career lasting 37 years. As a frontline helicopter pilot and instructor, as a Destroyer captain, and as a staff officer in the MoD and NATO he was confronted with many leadership and management challenges, and just a few real world crises. Highlights included operational flying during the Falklands Conflict; commanding HMS LIVERPOOL in the Arabian Gulf; being part of the MOD crisis response organisation post 9/11; being Adviser on Aircraft Accidents to the Navy Board; directing all NATO units in the Mediterranean during the second Gulf War, and being Naval and Air Attaché in Athens and Ottawa.
Since leaving the Navy he had a brief spell as an English Language teacher and joined Berwicks in March 2011. He lives in Dorset with his wife Rosalie. Their two adult children work in London. His hobbies include sailing, skiing, and paragliding.
